Ravindra Jadeja made a cheerful comment in response to the question of a reporter who asked about the growth of SHUBMAN GILL as Captain India after his breathtaking knock against England on the second day of the Edgbaston test on Thursday, July 3.
Gill’s Knock powered India at a total of 587 runs in the first shifts and placed them on the driver’s seat. Jadeja, who scored 89 and shared 203-run with Indian captain, helped lay the foundation for a big sum. During a press conference at the end of the game, Jadeja was asked by a reporter to assess Gill’s growth as a captain, given Jadeja’s seniority in the team. All-Rounder laughed and asked the reporter if he had noticed how much Gill had excelled since the takeover of the role and scoring 269.
“You haven’t seen how much he grown? He got 269 runs,” Jadeja said.
All-Rounder continued to say that Gill shows no signs of being burdened with a captain during launching and manipulating everyone.
“Frankly, it looks extremely confident. There is absolutely no sign in its launch that they bear the burden of the captain or added responsibility. He can do that smoothly. He does not reflect it at all,” Jadeja said.

“It seemed to me as if Gill hadn’t gotten out”
Jadeja further said that he felt that Gill was unhappy, that he was released because he never dreamed that he would get off during the knocking. When he talked about their conversations in the middle, Jadeja said they focused on building a large partnership and it was all about mutual talk and encouragement.
“Even today he was unlucky. The ball just went straight to the hands of the player in the field. But he never felt as if he had gotten off during these shifts. He played brilliant knocking.”
“Whenever we both joined together, we only focused on building a big partnership. We were still talking and encouraging each other. That was our only conversation there,” Jadeja said.
Gill is currently leading the way for most of the season runs, with 424 in just three shifts.
