
Teams of the working group from Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation carried out inspections of men and women’s hostels in the city and issued announcements and sanctions for violations.
Fifty -eight hostel was checked in the areas of Dilsukhnagar, Ashok Nagar and Ameerpet and 30 were issued a notice of various violations, GHMC said. Punishments were chosen for a melody of 2,45,500 GBP and five kitchens were closed.
Special units of the working group were created with members drawn from various departments, including food safety, hygiene, land use planning and more, for receiving hostel inspections, the note said.
Twenty hostels in Ashoknagar, 23 hostels in Dilsukhnagar and 15 hostels in Ameerpet were checked on Friday Friday. None of the hostels operating in Ameerpet had a business license and therefore not a notice was issued to all. Eight hostels in Ashoknagar and seven in Dilsukhnagar were issued a similar announcement, while the kitchen of two hostels in Ashoknagar and Dilsukhnagar and one in Ameerpet was closed due to lack of food safety and the Standards in India.
General Violations by the Hostel Managements Included Unclean Walls and Ceilings, Greasy and Dirty Exhausts, Garbage Bins Kept Open, Housefly Infestation, Unauthorized use of Cellars and Parking Area As Kitchens, Lack of Personal Hygiene by Food Handlers Floor, Cooking and Cleaning Areas Being Very Close to Each Other, and Toilers Opening Directly Into The Kitchen, Apart From absence of trade and fssai licensses.
There were also other violations, such as the display of large accumulations in violation of advertising standards, poor food quality prepared in an unhygienic way, pushing host rooms, basic needs such as proper toilets ignored and storing waste on the streets.
Despite the broad publicity and awareness, the leadership was irresponsible, which leads to health risks for citizens, the note said.
