A violent protest erupted at the University of California, Berkeley outside a sold-out show for Charlie Kirk’s Turning Point on Monday during the final stop of the US Comeback tour Kirk had just begun at the time of his death.
Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, was shot and killed on September 10 while speaking at an event at Utah Valley University. His killing reignited debates about political violence and became a rallying point for the Republican president.
Berkeley was hosted by the TPUSA campus chapter. It featured comedian and actor Rob Schneider and Christian author Frank Turek.

“@CivilRights will investigate what happened here and I see some serious issues with campus and local security and Antifa’s ability to operate with impunity in CA,” Harmeet Dhillon said in a post on X.
“In America, we do not allow citizens to be assaulted by violent thugs, shrug their shoulders and turn their backs. Been there, done that, not on our patrol,” Dhillon wrote.
“Charlie inspired us”
One attendee, who drove five hours from Santa Maria, told the Daily Mail she came to the event inspired by Charlie, saying Kirk’s religious teachings drew her to his work rather than his politics.
“His message about traditional family values, what it means to be a godly husband or wife — that’s what stuck with me,” she added.
— Despite the protests, the hour-long event went smoothly after the cottage scenes.
“Despite Antifa thugs blocking us with tear gas, fireworks and glass bottles, blocking our campus tour stop, we had a FULL HOUSE in the heart of dark blue UC Berkeley,” New TPUSA spokesperson Andrew Kolvet said in a post on X.
