Former PMK GK Mani President claimed on Tuesday that the change of permanent and registered addresses from Teynamplet in Chennai on Tilak Street (the founder of the founder of PMK S. Ramadossa son Anbumani) was an attempt at Hoodwink people.
When he talked to reporters in Thailapurama near Tindivanam, he said that the Indian Election Commission (ECI) assigned the “mango” symbol to PMK. However, the permanent address of the party was mentioned as Tilak Street, and it came as a shock to the founder and cadre of the party.
“The permanent address of the party is in the Teynampa in Chennai, but that has changed in an effort to hoodwink the people. It is cheating. ECI mentioned in another letter that it has seen details of the officials chosen at the General Council meeting held in Mamallapurama,” he said.
“Meeting Invalid”
Mr. Mani, supporter of Dr. Ramadossa, said Dr. Anbumani was appointed PMK President in 2022 and his tenure ended on May 28, 2025. “If this was the case, as Dr. Anbumani could convene meetings of the General Council on Mamallapurama (later),” he asked. “According to the statutes of the party, the General and Executive Boards cannot be convened without the founder.
Mr. Mani, Pennagaram Mla, said that the PMK administrative committee unanimously chose Dr. Ramadoss for the President at a meeting held on May 29, 2025. This was approved by the Executive Board and meetings of the General Council held on July 8 and 19 August. “Dr. Ramadoss is president of PMK, and that’s final,” he said.
Fees rejected
Meanwhile, spokesman for PMK K. Balu, supporter of Dr. Anbumani, he rejected Mr. Mani’s accusation. He said there was no truth in the accusations, which would only reduce the character of Dr. Ramadosse.
“Mr. Mani was president of PMK for 25 years. When Dr. Anbumani became president in 2022, ECI was sent a letter trying to change the address to the present on Tilak Street in T. Nagar, Chennai, 1 June 2022.
Mr. Balu stated that the Party Act (Rule 13) does not state that the founder’s approval is required to ratify the decision of the General Council. “How can someone who served as PMK president for 25 years make such a slander and incorrect statement,” he asked.
Mr. Balu re -mentioned the statutes of the party to say that the founder would not automatically become president after the termination of the term (president). “The party’s administration is left to the President, the Secretary General and the Treasurer … Finally, as far as the letter ECI was indeed intended for their fraction (Ramadoss faction), the letter sent to us provides us with the extension of the possession.
