
Three persons have been arrested from Uttar Pradesh in connection with the killing of Chandranath Rath, an aide to West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, police said on Monday.
The three accused were detained on Sunday and later arrested by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) set up to probe the murder that took place in Madhyamgram area of North 24 Parganas district on the night of May 6.
“Based on specific leads, Mayank Raj Mishra and Vicky Maurya were arrested from Buxar, Bihar and Raj Singh was arrested from Ballia (Uttar Pradesh) on 10.5.26. On subsequent questioning, all three were arrested by Madhyamgram PS this morning. Investigation is on,” the press release said.
