India-Pakistani conflict: Chandigarh forbade the accumulation of basic commodities – including rice, wheat, sugar and fuel – under the law on basic commodities after an attempt to attack from Pakistan on Thursday 8 May and further warning in the morning.
All merchants were ordered to declare their existing shares to the Ministry of Food and Stock within three days.
The India-Pakistani conflict recorded the main escalation late on Thursday after Pakistan fired missiles and drones at military places in Jammu and other countries.
Why did Chandigareh impose a ban?

As a result, Chandigarh imposed a ban on the accumulation of “protecting the public interest and maintaining the smooth availability of basic goods” as a result of tense situations, the announcement states.
Chandigar residents were further asked to report cases of accumulation, black marketing and price manipulation.
