Chamala urges voters to vote for the Congress for Development

February 8, 2026

Bhuvanagiri MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy urged voters to support the ruling Congress in the municipal polls for development and accused the opposition BRS of pushing the state into debt during their decade-long rule.

At an election rally with Danasari Minister Anasuya Seethakka in Cherial on Saturday, the Congress MP criticized former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao for cheating Dalits by reneging on his promise to make a Dalit the first Chief Minister of Telangana. He asked where the promised water, finance and jobs had gone as the state was created after the sacrifices of 1300 martyrs.

Mr. Chamala also again criticized the Kaleshwaram project, claiming that the massive irrigation scheme has turned into a crumbling project. He compared BRS MLC Palla Rajeshwar Reddy to a magician and alleged that he was stealing votes and manipulating results.

Mr. Chamala also targeted former minister Harish Rao, alleging that he diverted irrigation water to Siddipet at the expense of local farmers.

Later, at a women’s meeting in Ibrahimpatnam, the MP said that ten years of Mr. Chandrashekhar Rao’s rule had pushed the once surplus state into indebtedness. Minister Seethakka and local MLA Malreddy Ranga Reddy addressed the meeting.
