In the significant management of Shuffle, the CEO of Air India Campbell Wilson announced on Tuesday (April 22, 2025) to withdraw his decision as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Air India Express, the low -cost carrier of the TATA group.
It will be followed by Nipun Aggarwal, the appointment of TATA SONS and Chief Sales Director of Air India, which is already a member of the Air India Express Council.
Mr. Wilson shared messages through an internal platform for airlines. The notifications come against the Air India background, which closes the merger of various airlines under Tata Fold – integrates Vistar with Air India and Airasia India with Air India Express. This determines the phase for the next phase for further synchronization of the routes between two airlines, which is a division that Mr. Aggarwal oversees Air India as the Chief Commercial Director.
“With this structural work, it will be largely completed, the focus will now be moved to the full use and optimization of fleet, network, sales, distribution and loyalty,” Mr. Wilson said. While Air India will focus on domestic routes and international connections Metro-Meter, Air India Express budget carrier will focus on Tier-1 and Tier-2, along with international fear.
The Chief Operations Director of Air India, Captain Basil Kwauk, who joined the airline as Singapore Airlines, who has a 24.1% stake in Air India, will also replace Mr. Campbell as a member
