The Central Tribal University of Andhra Pradesh (CTU-AP) will start admissions for its postgraduate courses such as Tribal Studies, Sociology, Social Work, Journalism and Mass Communication, English, Chemistry, Biotechnology and Master of Business Administration (MBA) between July 13 and July 15 for the academic year 2026 and 2027. The number of seats in each branch will increase to 200 in 2027-28, according to the university authorities.

Youngsters who have appeared in the all-India Common University Entrance Test (CUET) are eligible for admission to the university, which was established in 2020 at Vizianagaram in AP. The university recently held its first convocation in Visakhapatnam where President of India Dropaudi Murmu presented certificates to students who successfully completed their courses.

Against the backdrop of the first convocation organized in the presence of the President of India, there is considerable demand for seats in the university. Acting Vice-Chancellor T. Srinivasan, who held several review meetings regarding the admission process in the last few days, expressed happiness over the good response of students from all states to the courses offered by the university.

“Since its inception, the university has given top priority to campus placements, entrepreneurship, field studies and expert-led research in selected subjects. All these factors have contributed to the demand for seats offered by the university,” said Dr. Srinivasan in an interview with The Hindu.

He said that the registration process has been started for admissions to undergraduate courses like Botany, Chemistry, Artificial Intelligence, Bachelor of Business Administration and others. Up to 120 seats are available in UG courses and 160 seats are offered in PG courses. Their number is likely to increase from the next academic year as the permanent buildings of the university will be ready by the end of 2026 on the Gajapathinagaram-Saluru route. Currently, the university is conducting courses for students at a temporary campus in Vizianagaram.
