The Ministry of the City Administration and Development (Ma & UD) has launched a strict campaign against real estate taxes and focused on central and state institutions and private landowners. The event is governed by a nationwide review meeting led by the main secretary S. Suesh Kumar, who emphasized the urgent need to restore fees to improve municipal financial health.
According to the latest data of the Ministry, the total outstanding tax fees across the city local authorities (ULB) are approximately 5,480 GBP. This includes 1,680 GBP Crore from central institutions, CRORE 962 GBP from state departments, 1,860 GBP Crore in arrears of inquired land (VLT) and 978 GBP tangled in court cases.
Among the state institutions is the largest non-152KV AP-TRANSCO court in Kalyanadurgam, which owes Crore 2.56 ₹. In Cheemakurty, AP Social Welfare Gurukula Patasala owes 1.34 GBP crore, while the Mandal Revenue Office owes 26 lakh. Other state defaulters include the Executive Director of the planned CASTE CORPORATION in Kakinad with 27 GBP Lakh in arrears towards Peddapuram ULB and the Office for Electrics in Darsi, which owes £ 25 Lakh. Together, these five best state institutions owe CRORE 4.68 GBP.
Missions among central entities are even more pronounced. Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (Rinl-Visakhapatnam) under the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) in itself owes the civic organ of the stunning Crore 778 crore on free land and other crore 584 crore for a tax due to tax.
Other central bodies with substantial fees include the Visakhapatnam Special Economic Zone Commissioner, which owes 33 GBP Crore, Visakhapatnam Port Trust with 22 Crore and southern central railway in Vijayawada with 13.51 GBP. Together, these institutions owe 1,430,51 crore.
The Chief Secretary ordered all city commissioners to issue legal notifications within one week. In addition, ULB must publicly publish the names and details of the starting properties to start a more transparent recovery process.
Officials were also instructed to identify real estate that have not yet been captured in the tax network and place on the spot on the spot to warn against immediate legal measures if the fees remain unpaid, especially in terms of free land.
