The Academic Association of the National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NirdPR), Hyderabad, Has Urged Union Ministry Standing Committee’s Recommentations on Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, As Report Contains Important Observations and Recommentations Concerning the Governance and Institutional Autonomy of Nirdpr.
In the letter of the Minister of the Association, she said that the committee recommended that the Ministry for the Development of the Rural (MORD) unimed deeper cooperation with NirdPR and stop the process of disconnecting. The Committee report, presented in parliament on 22 July 2025, emphasizes several concerns about administration, academic functioning and institutional autonomy of NIRDPR.
Among the key recommendations are the forming committee led by Mord to supervise administrative and administrative matters, accelerate the cast of vacancies and reorganize the current structure of the management. According to the Association, the Committee noted that NirdPR has been paralyzed over the last four years, while the key positions lie in a free space or treat them with lower AD-HOC officers.
The morale of the faculty is reportedly at the lowest level due to problems such as unresolved cases of vigilance, long -waiting promotion and lack of confidence of leadership. The report also emphasized that NirdPPR cooperates with only 221 employees against the sanctioned force of 640 and leaves 419 vacancies.
