New Delhi: The National Health Office will sign an agreement with the Delhi government on April 5 to expand the health insurance system of the center to more than 654,000 families in the Union.
NHA is an implementation agency for this program, Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Aogya Yojana (AB PMJAY).
“According to the plan, NHA will sign a memorandum with the Delhi government, which will implement April 5.
It is the largest health insurance system in the world that provides health coverage £5 Lakh per family per year. It should have no waiting period or restriction of existing health conditions.
The capacity criteria for the recipient families were originally identified from the socio-economic caste census (SECC) of 2011 on the basis of 6 deprivation and 11 professional criteria across rural and urban areas.
The government official in Delhi said: “Delhi recipients are PM-Jay covering on the basis of their presence in the SECC 2011 database. Delhi has approximately 654,000 families and are mandatory under the program.”
“But it’s on the state government if they want to cover the whole population or not.” In principle, there is no limitation of family coverage as such. “
Replenishment
The ruling BJP promised to add another £5 Lakh for PMJay scheme. Initial £5 Lakhs will be given by the center, while the peak = the government of Delhi.
PMJay scheme also offers £5 Lakh Health Insurance for Seniors aged 70 and over, regardless of income. This benefits 60 million seniors who belong to 45 million families.
“All this health coverage in Delhi will be.” £5 lakh + £5 lakh and more £5 Lakh if there is an older person aged 70 years or more in the family, ”said government official Delhi.
Over the years, PM-Jay has benefited more than 80 million people who received free treatment, while 400 million have Ayushman cards.
Economic survey 2024-25 emphasized the positive impact of AB PMJay on reducing expenditure outside the pocket (OOPE) through increased social security and primary health expenditure with recorded savings through RS. 1.25 trillion.
In January 2022, on the basis of the level of decadal growth of 11.7%, the central government revised the recipient base to 120 million families and provided flexibility to states/UTS to use other databases to verify recipients against such recipients of SECC who could not be identified and verified.
Many of the territory of states and trade unions (UTS) performing AB-PMJay further expanded the beneficiary’s base at their own expense within the system using SECC data sources (including the National Food Security Act, State Data Sads).
Questions sent to the Ministry of Health remained unanswered until the press.
