Center to launch GIS-based digital register for rural road infrastructure | Today’s news

At the road level, the registry will track information such as road name, unique identification code, category, length, year of construction and implementing agency. At the segment level, it will map georeferenced sections, roadway type, segment length, construction costs and current status, allowing authorities to evaluate infrastructure at a more detailed level. At the asset level, the system will record geotagged data on culverts, bridges, dams, drainage structures, abutments and guardrails and road safety devices along with their technical specifications and maintenance history.
