State President Indian Union Muslim League (iuml) Panakkad Syed Sadikali Shihab Thang has accused trade union and state governments of the use of Munammam’s country for their side political motifs.
On Wednesday evening, after the climax of the rally, the party was opened to protest against the WAQF law (amendment) opened a public meeting at Kozhikode Beach.
Thangal claimed that the state government could solve the problem through interviews concerning the parties concerned. “However, they take it to the punishment phase to suit their political interests. This is not needed for hours. The government should focus on a permanent solution,” he said.
Thangal pointed out that the Minister of Trade Unions for Minority Affairs Kiren Rijiju’s latest statement that the residents of Munambam could commit the legal disabilities to the solution of their concerns confirmed the iuml stand. “We have always argued that it should not be evicted from there, and the problem should be resolved through interviews. For us, the municipal amity is the highest priority. We will continue to deal with the leaders of the Christian community,” he said.
The leader of IUML said that through the WAQF Act (amendment), the Union’s government wanted to send a message that no one should come to make their properties or land as “WAQF”.
“There are many Dargahs and Masjids with huge qualities. The new law will facilitate the fragment of these qualities,” he said. Thangal said that the act had taken the constitutional rights of the faithful to keep their qualities.
He claimed that the Union’s government was working against them instead of protecting these rights. “It’s like people who should protect themselves property that is trying to steal it. We will fight politically and legally against such attempts,” he added.
National Secretary General IUML PK Kunhalikutty, who chaired the event, claimed that the state government is delaying the solution of the problem of Munambam.
“The government could solve it in five minutes. They did not do it. Now that the Waqf court was on the verge of its solution, a new tactic is used for its further delay,” he said. Mr. Kunhalikutty also claimed that the state government is trying to create friction between two minority communities that supported the unified democratic front.
Minister of Income Karnataka Krishna Byre Gowda claimed that BJP is spreading a lot of lies in the name of WAQF Properties. Minister of Telangany Panchayat Raj D. Anasuya said that the WAQF law (amendment) was a direct insult to the nation.
