The Karnataka has once again applied for a approval for three of its main water projects-eettinahole and Kalasa-Banduri (drinking water projects) and Upper Bhadra.
Zatáras for projects
While the Yettinahole project in the western Ghats in the Hassan district hit Zataras over the acquisition of forests, the Kalas-Banduri project was against the neighboring Goa against. Karnataka is also looking for funds to complete the UPPER BHADRA project and the center has to inform the Krishna Tribunal-II, which could help irrigate large land in North Karnataka.
“We have been a minister of BHUPENDRA YADAV Departments on technical problems in the Yettinahole project and our plan to provide income ground instead of forest origin. We responded to the objections raised by the Ministry of the Environment concerning forest.
Forestland problem
Asked about the objections to the use of 423 acres of forest land: “We provided an alternative income ground by paying compensation to farmers who used foresters for 40 to 50 years.
After meeting with Minister Jala Shakti CR Patil, Patil said that the main minister said that the Kalasa-Banduri project was discussed. Goa has no right to object to the project, he said. “After the court’s decision, we called on the selection for this project. The center must take a strict attitude to objections and allow construction. After the Council of the Union of Pralhad Joshi, we will explore the legal answer.”
Money is not released
As for the UPPER BHADRA project, Mr. Shivakumar said that although the center was allocated by 5,300 GBP Crore in the Union budget in 2023-2024, the money has not yet been published. “We dismissed the Minister to issue instructions to release funds within the PMKSY-AIBP system.” The Horní Bhadra 21 473 GBP project, as soon as it is completed, irrigates 2.25 Lakh hectares in Chikkamagalur, Chitradurg, Tumacura and Davangere, added.
