
Minister of Higher Education R. Binda said on Friday that Sankacharya University of Sanskrit (SSUS), Kalads, a center for translation studies will be established.
It would be under the centers of the language network Keral, one of the seven centers of excellence initiated by the government of Kerala, she said in her inauguration address at the opening of the Kerala Institute for Gender Equity on Varsity.
She said that the institute, which occurred between seven Excellency centers, had to take the lead in solving gaps in equality of women and men by conducting research and studies in the field. The Kerala Institute for the Equality of Women and Men is aimed at integrating gender perspectives into policy creation, sex inequalities and sharing research results with institutions and partners across the country. It will focus on the development of interdisciplinary research in gender studies.
The Minister said that the Ministry of Higher Education has launched various steps to revise the curriculum by focusing on students’ access. The courses have been designed to strengthen students’ skills. The curriculum for postgraduate courses would be revised as monitoring of reforms carried out at the university level, she said.
The swarms of M. John, Mla and KK Geethakumary, Vice -President, were among those who participated in the program.
