Congress MLC Yathindra Siddaramaiaha on Monday claimed that data concerning socio-economic and educational survey, popularly known as the caste census, would probably be digitized even if the original report disappeared.
Mr. Yathindra said that the then President of the State Committee of Karnataka for Breakdings would clarify the clarification of this matter.
He not only rejected as a “unfounded” accusation of the BJP that the main Minister Siddaraiaha left with him the original report, but also called “ridiculous” and carried out of “prejudice” that Mr. Siddaramahaih would make dominant castes.
Mr. Yathindra tried to emphasize that the caste census would not have any caste and tried to disperse the “misconception” that some communities would be affected if they were to be carried out.
Yathindra pointed out that the Caste Census report was trying to increase the percentage of reservations from the current 32% to 51%, said all the back -class classes, including the Vokkaligs and Lingayats, if the message was introduced.
Different communities sought to increase the percentage of their reservations with regard to the increase in the population. Removal of 50% of the ceiling on the reservation was the solution to increase the quantum for various reverse classes, he said.
The percentage is not necessarily increased in relation to the population of each community, but in accordance with their economic backwardness, he said.
Mr. Yathindra was also trying to clarify that there was no threat to the position of the main Minister Siddaramaiaha and rejected the accusation that the census report was only published for its politically stabilization.
He said that the party was united by Mr. Siddaramaiaha, while the main command is also in his support. Despite the false cases that appeared on it, the party leadership, the high command and legislators of the party are firmly behind Mr. Siddaramaiaha.
He said that the caste census is his commitment to society. Although the survey was completed during his earlier term of office as the main minister, the same could not be done. However, the party’s manifest has promised its release in the last elections to the Assembly and the party has brought itself to assurance.
He said that the party command, including the leader of the opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, was in favor of the caste census if the party came to power. Therefore, the caste census was released, he said.
Mr. Yathindra responded to the questions in a number of Janivar and said that there were mistakes in several places and the government took the relevant measures against the perpetrators and properly resolved the victims complaints.
He said Congress would provide religious freedom to all and appealed to BJP against the politicization of this matter.
