
As a result of an incident in the sculpture defilement, Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) is ready to strengthen the safety of CCTV on key intersections throughout the city. This initiative is part of the plan to protect sculptures and discourage vandalism.
Deputy Commissioner G. Lakshmikanth Reddy, spoke with reporters on Wednesday, saying that the local authorities were ordered to improve security measures, while supervisory systems are expected by next month.
As the first step, MCC installs cameras in three prominent sculptures of circles in the city, will learn it. MCC movement comes after the statue of Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar in the KR Circle has recently been disappointed by a man, evoking public outrage and revealing security drops on the site of heritage. The civil society organization and the inhabitants strongly condemned the incident and demanded immediate protective measures.
We take if the incident, the Minister responsible for the Mysuru district, HC Mahadevappa, ordered the district administration, the police commissioner and the chief police supervision of CCTV for all major statues throughout the district. This includes the sculptures of Dr. BR Ambedkara, Basavanna, Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar and Buddha, among other things, he said.
The Minister also called for strict action against those who participated in vandalism. Police Commissioner Seema Latkar informed in response to his directive that the concerned authorities had already been submitted to the list of key points for CCTV installation and the necessary steps are taking place.
