Sleuths from the Central Crime Branch (CCB) have arrested a couple suspected of duping more than 100 people by promising jobs to the central government and state administration, in a multi-crore scam.
The accused have been identified as Jason D’Souza (39) and Lavina (36), a married couple. While the exact scale of the scam is yet to be ascertained by investigators, they say the sheer number of victims, over 100, suggests that it may be close to around ₹5 crore.
