CCB arrests rioter, seizes eight deadly weapons

Bengaluru Central Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths arrested a thug at Kodigehalli police station limits for allegedly causing fear among the public while carrying a long machete near Tree Boulevard on GKVK Road in Sahakara Nagar in north Bengaluru.

The accused has been identified as Madhusudhan alias Katri, 33, allegedly found roaming within the Kodigehalli police station armed with a deadly weapon. Acting on credible information, a team of the Organized Crime Squad (East) conducted an operation on July 24 and arrested the accused.

During interrogation, the accused allegedly revealed that he kept other deadly weapons at his residence, which led the police to register a case against him under the Arms Act.

Further investigation revealed that the accused is an associate of a rioter from Kadubeesanahalli in East Bengaluru and is involved in eight criminal cases, including a murder case.

The Kodigehalli police and the CCB team later conducted a joint search at the accused’s residence and recovered eight deadly weapons that were illegally stored there.
