
The Central Investigation Office (CBI) took over the probe of two IAS officers in retirement and the former state -General advocate in Chhattisgarh, who abused his positions to influence the probe in the alleged fraud of Nagrik Apurti Nigam (NAN), which first appeared in 2015.
The case against Anil Tente and Alok Shukl and former Ag Satish Chandra Verma was registered last year by the wing of economic crimes in Chhattisgarh and the probe was later transferred to the CBI by the state government. CBI was registered on April 16, the official said.
According to the first information report (companies), Mr. Shukla and Mr. Tenteja, while serving as civil servants in the CHHhattisgarh government, allegedly abused their official positions to provide a disproportionate advantage to the general advocate of Satish Chandra Verma.
Companies state that this happened with the intention of incorrectly influence the fulfillment of public obligations. These three are accused of conspiracy for a change in official documents and procedural information concerning higher officials of the State Office for the investigation of economic crimes. These changes were reportedly made to manipulate the content of the answers submitted before the High Court in connection with the Civil Supplies Corporation (AP00 09/2015), in a manner favorable to the accused.

The alleged fraud concerned the purchase of substandard rice and NAN salts, Chhattisgarh’s node agency for the purchase and distribution of food grains within the public distribution system. The duo of the officer was one of the 18 persons booked by the Office against Corruption.
