
On Saturday, the Central Investigation Office (CBI) was arrested by Commissioner for Income Tax (exemption), Hyderabad, along with four others for accepting a bribe of 70 lakh to decide to dismiss the income tax in favor of the private party.
The accused official, who also has other charges of appeal units 7 and 8 under the main main commissioner of income tax, Hyderabad, allegedly operated a rocket of corrupt conduct with the help of intermediaries manipulated with appeal results. The CBI registered the Case 9 of May against the official and 14 more for a conspiracy to seek “disproportionate satisfaction” in exchange for favorable judgments.
The trap was laid in Mumbai, where one of the intermediaries was caught accepting a bribe of 70 lamps from a private party named Commissioner. Soon thereafter, the Commissioner and his close colleagues in Hyderabad were arrested.
Contemporary searches started at 18 locations after Mumbai, Hyderabad, Khammam, Visakhapatnam and New Delhi. In addition to the remuneration, investigators seized the incriminating documents, articles and approximately 69 Lakh in cash. The Bureau stated that further searching was taking place.
Those who were arrested in Mumbai were made before the CBI special judgment, while the others from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are produced in front of the local courts.
Investigations are underway.
