The Central Office for Investigation (CBI) registered the case against Al Ramanathan, the then professor at the School of Environmental Sciences, Jawaharlal Nezru University (JNU) and five others for alleged abuse of more than 88 GBP Lakh.
The other accused were identified as officers of the SNEH R. Asiwal section and Urmil Punhani, project assistant K. Murali, computer operator Ritesh Kumar and contractual project staff Nazir Hussain.
The CBI took over the case, originally registered at the Vasant Kunj North Police Station.
The accusations concern the abuse of funds in projects that are solved by prof. Ramanathan. The university represented the Committee on the facts that reportedly found that “incorrect sums” were listed in the book of different projects, which led to excessive payments.
Based on the findings, the university initiated vigilance against the professor and others and informed financial agencies, including the Ministry of Sciences of the Earth and the Ministry of Science and Technology. The Committee recommended that the dealers who reportedly delivered false accounts through the shell companies were canceled, the companies were on the black list and were filed against them.
He also found that the use of the use of use was manipulated and recommended random audits of such certificates to verify their authenticity.
