The Central Investigation Office (CBI), Guwahati on Thursday, June 12, arrested Professor Cum Dean of the Science of Life, North East Hill University, Shillong for bribe £3,43 lakh on Guwahati University Pensity House. In this case another person (owner of the company) was arrested.
The investigation agency registered the case against Nirmalend Saha and One Pranjal Sharma 11 June.
The Case Was Registered “On the Basis of A Source Information to the Effect That The Accused Private Person (a Firm of A and the Firm) While Acting in Collusion with the Professor of Zoology and Dean of School of Life, North Eastern Hill University, Shilllong OTHERS INTULGED IN CORRUPT and Illlegal Practices and in Pursuani Thereof Facilitating the Said Accused Professor to Obay undue Advantage Against Award of Supply Orders of Scientific Equipment, Laboratory Items, etc.

The arrested accused will be issued before the relevant court in Guwahati, 12 June. The agency also attacked two places where it found evidence of the case. Searching CBI in one other place is happening.
“The search has been made on two palaces that led to recovery in question. The search is carried out in one place. The investigation continues,” he said.
