CB-CID has arrested two more in the Palani temple property scam case

Crime Branch-CID (CB-CID), Dindigul Unit, arrested two more persons in connection with the alleged fraudulent misappropriation and registration of property belonging to Arulmig Dhandapani Swamigal Madam at Palani.

During the investigation, evidence was collected regarding the role of Sivasankari, who was working as a Junior Assistant in charge of the Sub-Registrar at the Joint-I Sub-Registrar Office in Palani. She allegedly issued rejection letters regarding the disputed purchase agreement and facilitated subsequent proceedings.

Evidence was also collected regarding Sivakumar’s role in preparing and processing the disputed sale documents and his alleged association with other accused persons, the CB-CID said in a press release.

Based on documentary, electronic and oral evidence collected during the investigation, Sivasankari and Sivakumar were arrested on Wednesday (October 7, 2026). They were produced before the relevant court and remanded in judicial custody.

Further investigation is underway.
