Five Malaysian police officers were injured when their helicopter hit the Sungai Pulai River during a multinational security exercise on July 10. The Airbus AS355N aircraft plunged into the water near the police GELANG PATAH, JOHOR, just 21 meters from Jetta at 10:37 in the morning, just 46 minutes from Tanjung Kopang.
The naval police immediately saved all the inhabitants, including two higher officers. They were hurried to the Sultanah Aminah hospital, where two remain critically ill who need breathing support, while three are stable.
The reports were described during the incident “Nosesiving directly into the river”.
The General Police Inspector MoHD Khalid Ismail confirmed identity when visiting hospitalized crew members. Despite the age of the helicopter (delivered in 1996), Khalid insisted: “Age is not a problem – the right maintenance is crucial”. However, the police announced a committee that will evaluate retirement AS355N fleet due to a “28 -year duration of services and reduced abilities”.
Meanwhile, the police authorities urged citizens not to work or deposit videos about the incident and remember the privacy of the survivors and their family members. The examination process is also underway because the probe is currently underway in connection with this last air accident.
Start investigation as monitoring of regional partners
The Air Investigation Office has launched a formal probe on the basis of Malaysian regulations for civil aviation. Technical teams will explore maintenance records and flight data, while witnesses indicate possible mechanical failures during low height maneuvers.
This incident follows the April collision of the deadly navy in Lumut, which killed 10 staff and intensified the control of the Malaysian Air Security. The authorities urge the public to avoid speculation because rescue divers and aviation experts work in a muddy accident site.
