At least eight people were killed and 13 injured after the hot air balloon was lit and on Saturday it crashed in Brazil. The ball was carried by 21 people and lit in southern Brazil, said Santa Catarin’s governor, where the incident occurred, AFP report.
“Eight deaths and 13 survivors,” said Governor Jorginho Mello on X.
Videos taken by passers -by and Brazilian television showed the moment when the balloon broke out on the flames above the coastal city of Praia Grande.

The tourism balloon set fire to the early morning hours and collapsed in Praia Grande, according to the State Fire Brigade. A basket carrying passengers fell tens of meters to the ground in flames.
According to the fire brigade, thirteen survivors were transported to nearby hospitals, Reuters report.
The probe triggered
An investigation was initiated to determine the cause of the accident, another AFP press agency reported.
“We are in sadness. It has become a tragedy. We’ll see how it happens, what happened, why it happened. But the important thing is now that the state structure can do what it can,” Gov said. Mello in the video on X.
Mello said he asked the authorities to head to the municipality “to make as much as possible to save, help, accept, to comfort families.”

On June 15, in the center of Turkiye crashed in a hot air balloon and his pilot remained dead and 19 Indonesian tourists were injured, the local official said.
Anadol’s state agency said that another hot air balloon took off from the same Ilhara valley on Sunday morning, and that 12 Indian tourists were slightly injured and taken to the hospital.
In his statement, the Governor’s Office said the balloons were influenced by a sudden change in the wind.
On the first incident, the balloon tried to make a hard landing near the village of Gozlukuyu in Aksaray province, when the pilot dropped out of the balloon basket and his legs got entangled in the rope, said Governor Aksaray Mehmet Ali Kumbububuzoglu.
“Unfortunately, our pilot stuck under the basket and died,” he said, adding that the injuries of tourists were taken to the hospital.
A video from the newspaper agency Ilhas showed one defined balloon, his passenger lay on his side because the emergency services tended to injured people. Investigations are underway.
