The filming Day became tragic for a young youtuber in Odisha after being swept through strong currents on the Duduma waterfall in the district of Kaput. The missing youth was identified as 22 -year -old Sagar Tudu, resident of Berhampura in the district of Ganjam, the officials said on Sunday.
According to the police, Sagar traveled to the parallel with his friend Abhijit Beher to create content for his YouTube channel and introduce tourist destinations in the region. On Saturday afternoon the duo filmed reels using a drone camera at the waterfall when there was an incident.
The Machakund dams released water after a strong precipitation in the Lamtaput area after the alerts were released to the residents. Sagar, who at that time stood on a rock near the waterfall, was suddenly caught when the water level increased sharply.
Witnesses said he tried to keep his balance on a slippery rock before he was swept. Tourists and locals nearby tried to save him, but their efforts were unsuccessful, NDTV reported.
Soon afterwards, teams from the police in Machakunda and the fire brigade arrived and started a search operation. Youtuber, however, could not be traced until late evening.
