A government event in Nagpur took an unexpected turn on Friday when two senior postal department officers got into a heated argument – right on stage – in the presence of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. The clash, allegedly over seating arrangements and an official charge, was caught on camera and has since gone viral on social media.
The confrontation involved two women officers — one who was serving as the postmaster general (Nagpur region) and the other who currently holds the additional charge of the division after the former’s transfer to Karnataka.
However, the transfer order became the center of bureaucratic tug-of-war after a former officer from Nagpur challenged her transfer in court and obtained a stay order. This led to confusion over who officially held the post, leading to increasing tension between the two officials.
This tension spilled into the public eye during an event in Nagpur where officers were seen arguing and jostling for a place on the dais.
The widely shared video shows the two women sitting on the same couch as the argument escalates. One of them is seen pushing the other’s hand, causing water to spill and even pinching her arm as Nitin Gadkari – visibly taken aback – looks on.
The incident drew strong reactions online, with many social media users calling it “embarrassing” and “unbecoming of senior officials”.
“Drama on stage,” wrote a user on X.
“Nari Shakti display. Elbow push, pinch – fight between two officers, real women empowerment,” wrote another user on X.
A third user wrote, “Elbows, pinches… fight between two female officers in presence of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on stage goes viral!”
The postal department has yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
