Casper Ruud won the title Maiden ATP Masters 1000 after won Madrid Open 2025. On Sunday 4th May Norwegian star beat British Jack Draper 7-5, 3-6, 6-4 in the final of the Clay-Court tournament in Manolo Santana. After he was 0-6 down in the big finals, including The French Open in 2022 and 2023, and the US Open in 2022, Ruud finally tasted success.
Ruud, who previously got a better of Taylor Fritz, Daniil Medvedev and Francisco Cerundolo, did not use the best at the beginning. Ruud, who suffered a rib injury in the semifinals, went 3-5 down in the opening set before he did a strong comeback.
Draper, however, refused to throw a towel in the second set, holding for love for 3-3, and then Ruud broke twice and forced the competition into a decisive set.
Draper launched the third set with greater calm, but it was a ruud who brought all his experience and broke his opponent with the leadership of 3-2, after which he won the title with dominant love.

After his greatest victory in his career, Ruud said, “It’s been a long time.
“I knew Jack was playing incredible all year round, and especially in this tournament, so I knew that if I didn’t bring my game A-Plus, I was around the playground,” Ruud added.
“Great Support for Me”
Ruud also had praise for the draper, who did not fall into the hard fighting final.
“Fortunately, I played really well. Jack has become such an incredible player, now on any surface … That’s really a big support for me and I would like to keep it running,” Ruud added.
As far as Draper is concerned, the legendary Novak Djokovic skips to achieve his best career ranking No. 5 on Monday.
