After a long -term investigation on Friday (August 22, 2025), a special investigation team (SIT), who investigated the mass burial case of Dharmasthal, arrested the complainant, a 50 -year -old sanitary worker, after being protected against witnesses.
The sources on the SIT said he was arrested for a crooked oath. The complainant, while July 11, issued a voluntary statement of an oath in front of a judge in Belhangada, created a skull and several bones that he claimed to be a woman who was sexually attacked.

Forensic reports on the skull and bones secured, however, showed that skeletal remains were a remnant of a man, and therefore the complainant was reserved for a crooked oath, SIT said.
Sit arrested the complainant on Saturday (August 23, 2025) in the morning and will be made before the Jurisdiction Court in Belhangada. The protection of the notifiers provided by the complainant in the committee headed by the main district and judge of the Dakshin Kannada meeting was downloaded on Friday (August 22, 2025).

The SIT team asked the complainant since Friday (August 23, 2025) in the morning. This survey was preceded by the questioning of other workers who cooperated with the complainant in 1995 to 2014.
SIT also questioned medical staff, including the head of the forensic science department, the Hegde Medical College, Mahabalesh Shetty, who performed around 70 distributed bodies during this period. The bodies were buried in the presence of the police in the Banglagude area in Dharmasthale.
It was 2 July that the complainant of the Collegal filed a complaint and stated that more than 100 organs were buried during this period, including those victims of sexual assault and murder.

11th July appeared before the court court, where his voluntary statement was recorded according to Section 183 Bharatiya Nagarik Surraksha Sanhit (BNSS). Police Dharmasthaly confiscated skeletal remains and asked in court for brain mapping, Narco complainant analysis.
Meanwhile, the state government of 19 July was formed by a seating, led by the CEO of Police Pronab Mohanta to ask the accusation. Sit dug 17 seats in Banglagudde, near Bahubali Gudda and several other places. The excavation was carried out in place no. Partial skeletal remains of the male were found on site 6. Skeletal remains of a man who was suspicious of suicide were found above the ground near site 14.
Meanwhile, when he talked to reporters in Bengalur, the Minister of the Interior G. Parameshware confirmed the arrest. However, he refused to reveal any further information and stated that the investigation was to find out the truth for incidents and claims, and that was entirely up to the SIT.
The Belthangada court granted a 10 -day link to the complainant until 3 September 2025.
In further developments, SIT provided security coverage of Sujath Bhat in her residence in Banashankari, Bengalur. She claimed that her daughter had disappeared in Dharmasthale. On Friday, August 22, however, made a flipflop with her statement and finally said she would reveal the whole truth.
