The police in the central division registered the case against the node and several students in Karnataka for the alleged cheating of the Social Care Department and the use of 1.3 Crore in scholarships intended for minority students through counterfeiting.
Based on the complaint of Pradeep Simha M., 39, district official, minority social department, central police, the accused accused the accused under IT law and also according to section 420 (cheating), 468 (counterfeiting) and section 471 (crime of use as a real counterfeit document or electronic record) for further investigation.
The Minority Directorates offered before material, post-mator and merit scholarships for the period 2021-2022 and 2022-2023. The department verified the details of the application to find that some node officers and students created documents to get a scholarship.
According to the complaint, there was an alleged fraud between 2021 and 2023 and 643 false documents was recorded on the scholarship portal, which pretended to be students and required 1.35 GBP Crore in the scholarship.
The police were looking for more details to trace the accused.
