The Sasthamcott Police in Kollam registered a case against 27 symbatizers and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) workers for laying a flower carpet (Pookkalam) with the theme of the “Operation Sindoor” along with flower design showing Saffron’s flag on the main road leading to Partharet, Muthupilacada.
The case was registered against Sarath, Ashokan and 25 others who can be identified according to sections 223 (disobedience on the order duly announced by a state official), 192 (inadvertently give provocation with intention to cause unrest) and 3 (5). The complaint was filed with ASOKAN C., the bearer of the temple committee.
RSS activists laid a flower carpet with the inscription “SINDOOR OPERATION” with flowers right next to the Temple Committee flower design.
“Offer to encourage clashes”
“The court has forbidden people to build flags, decorations and flex boards in the temple space with the intention of creating a restlessness. However, contrary to 4 September, around 21:00, defendant, without permission of the temple committee, also ordered a picture carpet and marked on the main road on the main road.” Information Report (FIR).
Meanwhile, the Bharatiya party (BJP) condemned the police action and claimed that the floral carpet was laid in honor of the “Sindoor Operation”. BJP State President Rajeev Chandrasekhar urged the main Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to “withdraw this shameful and random fir”.
“This is Kerala. He’s a proud part of India. Yet fir has been filed for the production of Pockalam with the words” Sindoor Operation “in it. Absolutely unacceptable! Sindoor operation is our pride. Of these 26 victims of terror and their families, as well as every soldier who prevents India from his blood and victims … Kerala shelves must not forget that it is India and for CM/home ministers.
