According to Triblive Cruz, one individual was in serious condition, while the other was in a stable condition. The third person received treatment on the spot for a “smaller market” and was subsequently released, they said.
Cruz mentioned that the student was taken into custody and is currently being questioned at the Pittsburgh police headquarters.
‘Stems from a quarrel’
“It followed from a quarrel in the hallway. I don’t know exactly how it started. It wasn’t random, someone stabbed people in the hallway,” WTae.com said Cruz. Whether metal detectors were in place, she said, “That’s a question for school. I really don’t know what their security measures are on that day.”
“If someone else has a video about this incident, it is recommended to send it to the police or call a police headquarters,” Cruz added.
The Pittsburgh Public Security Department took X and said the school was currently locked, with the police, the fire and the EMS staff on the scene. “Pittsburgh police, fire and EMS are close to Carrick High School for a critical incident. The school is currently locked. Pio is on the way and updates will be provided as available,” he said.
Approximately 15 police vehicles from Pittsburgh public schools and the police department in Pittsburgh were sorted along Parkfield Street. Several children were seen to talk to officers outside the building, but the overall situation seemed calm, the report said.
“We are grateful for the quick event of the school employees, the school police and the first respondents of the city of Pittsburgh. Once it is available, more information will be shared,” CBS News quoted a spokesman for public schools in Pittsburgh.
