
Police Lokayukta in Chikkamagalur registered a case against the MLA for Sringeri TD Raje Gowd Congress and its family members according to the part of the 1988 Corruption Act. The case was registered on 23 September.
Dinesh HK, Koppy resident in the Chikkamagalur district, moved the court and sought an investigation against the MLA and its family members. He claimed that Mr. Raje Gowda was involved in corruption, abused his office and cheated on the treasury and income tax. The court, in its 16th September, ordered the police to sign the Lokayukta to register the company and conduct an investigation.
In his action, the complainant stated before the court that the accused had accumulated the wealth of disproportionate his well -known sources of income in connection with his family members. He quoted the matters of M/S Shabana Ramzan, a partner company to support his argument.
The company established in 1984 was originally held by Haji Aurangazeb and others. Later in 1992, SV Gangaiah Hegde, VG Siddhartha and Malavik Hegde became partners of the company. They acquired 266 hectares of coffee machines through AO year later in 1993, the original partners left the company. Later, the company borrowed huge loans from various banks, including Bank of Baroda, by committing goods.
After the death of Siddhartha and his father Gangaiah Hegde in 2019, DK Pushpa, the wife of Mr. Raje Gowda, was listed as a partner in the company with a 48% share. The son of Mla Rajdev TR was also a few months later as a partner.
According to the complainant, the accused released a mortgage loan of 55.75 GBP to a standard chartered bank, paid 66 Crore Crore Bank of Baroda and another 81.95 ₹ Lakh to Karnataka Bank. However, in his affidavit for Lokayukt at that time, Mla allegedly claimed that his annual income was 40 lakh.
The complainant who quoted these records claimed that the Mla has accumulated wealth of excessive source of his income. With these documents, he approached Lokayucta looking for inquriy. Later he turned to court. The court searched the police director of Lokayukta on a complaint that conducted a discreet investigation and reported in 2023 and liberated the accused of the accusation. However, the complainant raised objections to the report. Police of Lokayukty, who registered the company, said the case was investigating.
