
The Kukatpally police have arrested a 41-year-old man in connection with a case of chain snatching that was reported near a mall on Saturday night.
The accused Munuparthi Satish, a carpenter resident of Moosapet, was arrested by the crime personnel of Kukatpally police along with Balanagar Central Crime Station (CCS). The case was registered on the basis of a complaint filed by Nandipalli Kiran, a 40-year-old doctor from Bachupalla.
According to the police, the accused threatened the complainant, forcibly pulled out a gold chain weighing about 24 grams from his neck and fled from the spot when he came for shopping near Kukatpally. The value of the chain was estimated to be around ₹25,000.
Police said Satish, originally from Jangareddygudem village in Eluru district of Andhra Pradesh, has been taken into custody and further investigation is underway in the case.
