Carlos Alcaraz won the 22nd June crown of male singles in Queen’s Club and laid the brand before his defense of Wimbledon. The ruling Master French Open surpassed the Czech star Jiri Lehleck in a hard fired three-set battle, won 7-5, 6-7 (5), 6-2 in the cult Andy Murray Arena.
The victory was identified by Alcaraz’s fourth career title on the grass and reached the level with Rafael Nadal, who closed his famous career with the same sum on the surface. At just 22 years, Alcaraz continues to build on a shimmering biography and now heads for Wimbledon, which begins on June 30, which confidently covers the titles back to clay and grass.
This was the title of the second Queen Alcaraz, who first won at the ATP 500 event in 2023 – just a few weeks before he requested his first Wimbledon crown.
Top Seed Alcaraz, included in the world 2, had to dig deep against the light. After the first set flipped, the Spaniard was pushed to the referee when his Czech rival increased his level in the second line -up. But Alcaraz found other equipment in the final set, racing on the lead 4-1 and finally closed the match to secure his fifth title of the season.
Alcaraz, who spoke after victory, admitted he had arrived in London with modest expectations.
“I came without expecting – I just play a good tennis and prepare for the grass. I have to thank my team for the whole week. I’m lucky to have my family and a lot of friends who felt really comfortable here and it wouldn’t be possible.
Bublik wins Halle open
Alcaraz enters Wimbledon as the second seed, for world No. 1 Jannik Sinner, who defeated in the final of the French Open at the beginning of this month. Meanwhile, Sinner stepped out at Halle Open and fell in round 16 to Kazakhstan Alexander Bublik, who continued to raise the trophy.
Bublik, the world 45, was defeated by Daniil Medvedev 6-3, 7-6 (4) in the final and after six consecutive porasters won his first victory over Russian. The Kazakh performance charged throughout the week makes it a name to be watched in Wimbledon.
Medvedev, kind in defeat, offered praise with touch of humor:
“First, Sasha – Big Congrats on you and your team. I hope you are in the Carlos draw in Wimbledon … please, Carlos or Jannik’s draw!”
With a firm momentum at his side, Alcaraz will try to finish the hat trick in Wimbledon. Sinner will try to recover from that epic five hundred in the French Open final.
