
The French open champion Carlos Alcaraz headed to Ibiza, the Mediterranean island in Spain, renowned for his beaches and nightlife, to relax after a demanding clay that culminated in his French open triumph on June. The five -time Grand Slam champion shared a photo of himself with Tottenham Hotspur Sergio Reguilon from the resort on Ibiza.
It remains to be found if ALCARAZ will start its preparations for Wimbledon, which starts on June 30 at Queen’s Club-Prestigious ATP 500 and one of the few warm-up actions in front of Grass-Court Grand Slam.
Alcaraz is included in the Queen’s Club input list that begins on June 17th. The champion Tommy Paul, Taylor Fritz, the star Ben Shelton and the local favorite Jack Draper, is one of the prominent names set for competing at the ATP 500 event.
However, Alcaraz’s coach Juan Carlos Ferrero has not confirmed whether the Spaniard will actually participate in Queen’s. Ferrero said that Alcaraz would undergo medical control on the holiday to see if she was ready for a challenge in London.
“We are planning to play, but in a few days we made the final decision. We talked about it in the middle of the tournament and Carlos told us that we were looking forward to it. After these days rest, Thursday or Friday, we will test how they feel physically and mentally,” Ferrero said after the French open.
“We’re going to Wimbledon with great enthusiasm; Carlos loves playing there,” he added.
Alcaraz won Queen’s Club on his debut at the 2023 tournament. Last year, however, suffered a surprising defeat for the local popular Jack Draper. Despite the failure of Alcaraz, he continued his claim to the title Wimbledon and defeated Novak Djokovich in the final.
The Spaniard will eager to defend his crown in Wimbledon and further enforce his dominance on the grass.
