Green cardamom price touched a seven-year high of over ₹ 6,000 per kg on Monday. According to Spices Board officials, the morning auction held on April 27 by Specialty Indian Food Parks Exports Private Limited at Spices Park in Puttady here fetched a maximum price of ₹ 6,103 per kg, while the average price was ₹ 2,608 per kg. However, the average price fell to ₹2,545 in the second auction on Monday.
Spices Board sources noted that the overall record for cardamom remains at ₹7,000 per kg, set in August 2019. “After a long interval, cardamom price has once again crossed the ₹6,000 mark,” the source said.
