Employees of central armed police forces (CAPF), who are seriously injured during operations and have to undergo amputation, will be able to continue service until their retirement with all the benefits, the Minister of the Interior Govind said on Sunday (July 27, 2025).
Mr. Mohan said that the government will provide the best healthcare facilities and technologies available in the world for “limb replacement” surgery for officials and Jawans CAPF and it will be ensured that the loss of limbs will be repaired as much as possible.
“The government will also provide a minimum financial package for such staff and will be accommodated in the organization,” Mohan said, while he was engaged in the 87th day of the Central Reserve (CRPF) police forces in Delhi.
CAPF staff must follow certain physical standards for early promotion and services.
During the 21-day anti-Maoist operation on the edge of Chhattisgarh-Telangana, which was closed on May 11, at least five CRPF workers were carried out in Karegutta Hills (KGH).
Hardships in line of duty
The home secretary added that a large number of CRPF workers, including women, are deployed for the obligation of law and to order in manipure after ethnic conflict in the state in May 2023, he said that during his recent visit to the state he noticed that the staff had to move from one place to another and face various problems.
“CEO of CRPF was asked to present a report on the equipment needed for Jawans, especially women.
He added that there is also an effort to improve living conditions in areas affected by the camps in left -wing extremism (LWE).
“CRPF plays a key role at the end of LWE Menace before March 2026,” he said, adding that 149 forward operational foundations were operated in LWE areas, forcing Maoists to retreat.
The official said LWE was on the brink of its end in Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal.
He said the Interior Minister AMIT Shah mentioned at a conference on national security strategies on Sunday (July 27, 2025) that the growing figure of India would lead to security challenges and CAPF would play an important role in thwarting these challenges.
