The Cantonment Cantonment Secunderab council (SCB) was recognized as the best Cantonian council for its hygiene efforts. The SCB was awarded the Ministerial Prize in a special category in Swachh Survekshan 2024–25, made by the Ministry of Housing and urban affairs. The price celebrates SCB’s efforts in the field of fixed waste management and the implementation of innovative hygiene procedures, making it the only cantons in India that has this honor.
D. Madhukar Naik, CEO of the SCB (CEO) of D. Madhukar, was awarded to the Minister of Trade Unions for Housing and Municipal Affairs Manohar Lal Khattar in Nový Delhi on Thursday, July 17th. It recognizes exceptional achievements in hygienic and fixed waste management across canton plates at a nationwide level.
“Some of the key initiatives in the SCB hygiene include 95% coverage of systematic waste collection from door to door, 100% cleanliness in residential and market areas, and 75% of the source segregation of waste.
The SCB ensured the highest position between 58 cantons in the country and won the title “cleanest cantons”. This was placed on 11th place in the national city ranking. The cantonment also achieved a three -star evaluation under the City City Free Garbage City certification and received the Water+ certification for free emptying (ODF).
