
The Thiruvananthapuram Municipal Police registered the case in connection with the alleged harassment of the Dalitian woman at the Peroordada police station after being falsely accused of stealing three months ago.
Police Peroorkada registered this case on the basis of a complaint by Nedumangad Bindu, a domestic worker, against her former employer Daniel, her daughter Nisha and subordinate pig SG and assistant to the sub-inspector Prasannakumar KS, which was in connection with the controversy.
SC/ST panel intervention
The complaint is governed by the intervention of the Ceral State Commission planned caste/planned tribes (SC/ST), which examined the accusations of discrimination based on case -based and police misdemeanors.
The first information report contains serious fees, including false statements, unauthorized imprisonment and harassment based on case. It is also reported that the police have not examined the investigation properly before registering the original complaint.
The complainant was falsely accused of theft of the gold chain of Mrs. Daniel and her daughter. Mrs. Bindu was taken into custody without prior warnings on April 23 and held at the Police Station Peroorkada, where the officers were reportedly harassed.
“Verbally abused”
The complainant claimed that the officers had abused her verbally and tortured her mentally during the illegal detention, which was extended until noon the following day. The golden chain was later recovered from the complainant’s house, which proves that the accused of theft unfounded.
The incident caused extensive outrage, which led to an internal investigation by the assistant of the police commissioner Cantonment. The probe found that the officers involved were acting outside their authority.
The case is currently being investigated by a crime team led by Pathanamthitta Crime Branch Dysp Ka Vidyadharan in accordance with the instructions of the Human Rights Commission in Keraral. The investigation team is expected to submit their report this week.
