NZ vs CAN, T20 World Cup: UPDATE | SCORECARD
At 19 years and 141 days, Samra broke the previous record of Pakistan veteran Ahmed Shehzad (22 years, 127 days) to become the youngest centurion in the history of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. He is also the first player from an associate country to score a hundred in the Men’s T20 World Cup.
Samra brought up his half-century in 36 balls before stepping up against a seasoned New Zealand attack. He shared 116 runs with captain Dilpreet Bajwa, giving Canada a strong platform at the top of the order.
The century also made him the second batsman to reach three figures in 2026 in an ICC tournament, after Sri Lankan opener Pathum Nissanka.
