
Canada updated its travel counseling for citizens to the United States and emphasized the potential problems and challenges for LGBTQ+ travelers as a result of changes in American federal systems concerning gender identity. What does the advice say?
Counseling states that Canadian citizens can usually travel to the US for up to six months without requiring a visa. However, if a visa is needed, the US could assess existing visas and cancel them in specific situations, for example, if the conditions of admission are violated or competence, including concerns related to previous criminal convictions, are re -evaluated.
The same warning also applies to American permanent residents. Their status may be canceled if they stay outside the country after the permitted period or if any previous problems reappear during the re -evaluation.
They mention that US federal systems develop in “no longer accepting gender identity brands” and also state that “sex assigned at birth can now be required by federal forms and processes”.

This announcement comes when US federal systems surrendered from the recognition of gender identity on official documents that aroused fears, especially after limiting the passors to “male” or “female” at the beginning of this year.
