Yuzvendra Chahal had a funny request for Preity Zinta who asked him to make Punjab Kings opener for one match in IPL 2026. However, the Punjab owner gave him a funny reply on the matter.
Zinta has been engaging in fan interaction on social media platform X where she has been answering a lot of questions from her followers. With PBKS flying high in the IPL this season, there were many questions about the franchise and the players and Zinta were happy to answer them.
But then Chahal snuck in as a fan and asked if he could open one of the games for PBKS.
“Mam ek match mein open batting karne ka chance mil jaaye toh, (Madam, if I get a chance to open the batting in one of the matches.),” Chahal said on X.
However, it was Zinta’s response that ultimately stole the show. The PBKS owner told the leg-spinner that he can open the batting in any match after the IPL and current openers Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya won’t mind at all.
“Definitely Yuzi. Anything for you. IPL Khatam do uske baad whichever match you like. I’m sure Prabh & Priyansh won’t mind,” Zinta said in response to Chahal.
PBKS OPENERS IN SCINCILATE FORM
Both Prabhsimran and Priyansh have been in sensational form for PBKS this season and have picked up where they left off in IPL 2025. Prabhsimran has scored 287 runs in seven matches at an average of 57.4 and a strike rate of 192.61.
Priyansh has 254 runs from six matches at an average of 42.33 and a strike rate of 249.01. The duo combined to score 126 runs off 41 deliveries during their record-breaking run against DC at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on April 25.
Chahal has had a lukewarm first half of the season, picking up just four wickets in the seven matches he has played so far. PBKS will face RR in their next game at Mullanpur on April 28.
