Andhra Pradesh State RTI Commissioner Rehana Begum said on Friday (July 18, 2025) that the law on information was a powerful tool that can help the ordinary communities access information on government schemes, services and demands specifically for them.
In the program of raising awareness organized in the virtual regime, Adivasi invited this act to use this act for their well -being. She said that women in tribal regions often face challenges because of illiteracy and lack of access to information. However, by identifying and training active and enthusiastic tribal women, it was possible to cultivate the culture of interrogation and awareness. Once these women were equipped with the knowledge of the RTI Act, they could play a key role in solving local problems by helping others gain access to critical information, she said.
The five -day awareness program was organized in the anakapall district from July 14 to July 18th, Libtech India and the United Forum for the RTI, Andhra Pradesh campaign, in cooperation with various voluntary organizations. The event was attended by tribal women from Manyam districts, Alluri Sitarama Raju and Prakasam.
Representatives of Libtech India, including BDS Kishhore, and members of United Forum for the RTI campaign also took part in the event.
