The Association of Workers in the Concert expressed a strong opposition to the absence of provisions on the minimum wage guarantee in the GIG Act on the Telangana platform (registration, social security and social security), 2025.
The office wearer of Telangana Gig and the Works’ Union (TGPWU) platform (TGPWU) Shaik Salauddin said that the minimum wage is a key demand that would ensure a fair reward for all concert workers. The lack of this protection itself is problematic.
“What about the minimum wage guarantee? This is one aspect that will protect concert workers and platforms from use. When this clause is not available in the bill, it gives many workers in dangerous conditions on the wrong road, fighting waves and rains.
Pansalauddin stated that TGPWU demanded the inclusion of enforceable minimum wages in the final version of the bill and provision to ensure everyday or hourly minimum wage for all platform workers. “We want to urge the main Minister A.revant Reddy and the Minister of the Labor to participate in this matter and commit to this guarantee. The minimum wage warranty should be included immediately,” Pansalauddin said.
It is estimated that there are about 3.5 lakh to 4 lakh concerts and platform workers in Telangana. According to trade unions and workers, long shifts work, which last up to 12 hours on several occasions. The vast majority of workers and platforms are young men, up to 35 years.
In the recent past, TGPwu pointed out that those of the back and classes represent a significant piece of concert and platform staff, suggesting that government intervention is needed.
To further illustrate the difficult conditions in which the concert workers work, TGPWU and Heat Watch embarked on a survey that revealed that 52% of respondents experienced heat exhaustion.
