The Department of Chemistry at the University of Calicut and the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), London, the United Kingdom, organized a three -day chemical camp on its campus in Tenerhipalam in the Malappuram district since April 8.
According to the edition, 75 class IX students from nearby schools, which were supported by Samagra Shiksha Keral, took part in the camp. It was named after Yusuf Hamied, the Indian origin of the scientist-Filanthropist and the inefficient chairman of the pharmaceutical company Cipla, whose gifts allow RSC to operate free camps as part of the “inspiring scientific program” in India.
“Our obligation to promote scientific education exceeds only teaching. It is about the care of the spirit of investigation and cultivation of scientific mood. We believe in the authorization of young minds with knowledge, critical thinking and curiosity needed to explore the world around them, inspiring innovators and solvers of tomorrow. She said the camps were designed to make learning a practical experience and turn complex concepts into fun activities.
Vice -President P. Ravendran opened Tábor 8 April. He encouraged students to be curious about nature, and described how nature was the greatest inspiration for all the main human inventions.
Participants carried out experiments in chemical laboratories under the supervision of higher volunteers, listened to lectures of higher members of the Faculty of Department and learned about chemistry and its impact on human life through demonstrations and films. Participants were provided with protective equipment such as laboratory tires, safety glasses and free shoes. Melissa Mendonza, program manager, RSC and Suja TD, chemistry department, coordinated the camp.
