The University of Calicut will start its official sports website on Wednesday (June 4).
University resources on Tuesday (June 3) said that P. Ravendran, vice -chairman (VC), will open a website at 11:00 at the EMS Seminar Complex on the University campus in Tenetama, Malappuram.
The website was conceived by the Ministry of Physical Education. Details of sports activities at the university, various competition events, their winners, educational programs and other reports would be available. Athletes’ profiles from the premises were also provided. The department officials claimed that the site was designed using advanced technology and would benefit students, sports teachers and those interested in sport. They also said it would serve as a platform for the groom of fresh talent. Information about the ongoing and upcoming events could be provided through the website.
The issue of Quote Sakkeer Hussain, head of the Department of Physical Education, said that important athletes, students and teachers participated in the opening ceremony.
