The Cabinet Committee (CCEA) was chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi two more tracking rail projects to ensure faster transport of both passengers and goods, the government said on Wednesday (May 28, 2025).
He added that these projects include the third and fourth line between Ratlam-Nagda and the fourth line between Wardha-Balharshah.
According to a government statement, the total estimated projects of projects are 3,399 GBP Crore and will be completed until 2029-30.
“Projects are the result of the PM-Gati Shakti Shakti National Plan for Multimodal Connectivity, which was possible through integrated planning and ensures smooth connectivity for the movement of people, goods and services,” the press note said.
He added: “Two projects including four districts across Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh will increase the existing Network of Indian railways by about 176 km. The proposed project for more monitoring will strengthen connectivity to approximately 784 villages with a population of about 19.74 Lakh.” “The Minister of Railway Ashwini Vaishnaw said these two projects would support the infrastructure in the country in Dilli-Mumbai and Delhi-Chennai Economic Corridors and remove a close place in transport.
He added that during the third term of office of Modi, projects in the transport and infrastructure sectors were approved in the country’s transport and infrastructure sector.
The Government stated that these are essential routes for transporting commodities such as coal, cement, bouncy, plaster, fly ash, containers, agricultural commodities and oil products, etc., therefore, will lead to further transport operations of 18.40 MTPA (million tons per year).
It stated that railways that are outlined by the environment in the environment will help to achieve climate targets and minimize logistics cost, reduce oil import (20 liters) and lower CO2 emissions (99 Crore kg), equivalent to transport (99 crore).
“Projects will also generate direct employment for about 74 lakha human days during construction. These initiatives will improve travel comfort, reduce logistics costs, reduce oil imports and contribute to lower CO2 emissions, support sustainable and effective rail operations,” the government said.
“Projects would also increase logistics efficiency by increasing the capacity of the line along the critical routes for the transport of containers, coal, cement, agricultural commodities and other goods. Supplier chains are expected to improve this improvement.
Speaking of other benefits, the press release said that the increased capacity of the line would significantly increase mobility, which will improve the operational efficiency and reliability of the railway services.
“These more monitoring proposals are ready to streamline operations and alleviate overload,” the press note said.
